Free Hunter Leveling Guide

Introduction

The fastest way a hunter can reach level 70 would be by spending their talent points in the Beast Master tree to improve the abilities of their pets. As well as a fun and obedient travel companion as you explore Azeroth your pet will be a great tank, add a good amount of damage and make grinding very mana-efficient, thus decreasing downtime in between fights. What pet you get is not really that important, but to reduce your leveling time choose a high dps pet.

Fighting Strategies

Hunters are pure range fighters, although sometimes they will get into melee, they have no really abilities to fight this way, except Raptor Strike. Most people will start playing a hunter by pressing different random buttons as they learn new shots, but for full mana efficiency you should learn about shot rotation.

Shot rotation is simply the order in which you fire your special shots, such as Arcane Shot, Serpent Sting, Scorpid Sting etc, but as you level different types of shots become available to you and you’ll find your own rotation pattern. Given the number of factors that will influence your shot rotation this guide cannot cover this in depth, have a look at this guild for a full explanation of hunters abilities.

Before you master your shot rotation, or you just need to grind out some XP, or just plain lazy, you can set up a simple macro that will target the nearest enemy, send your pet in to attack, mark the target, and then begin auto shot for you. Setting up macro’s is simple and this guide will show you how as well as providing you with others for you to have a look at.
