Free Warcraft Power Leveling Guide

Wrath of the Lich King is just around the corner, you know you should have started that new character long ago but just never got around to it and now you want to power level 70 as fast as you can.

You can’t be arsed with doing all the quests again, anyway you know you get more gold for doing them when your level 70, so you deicide that your gonna power grind your way to level 70 with your new toon, but how to do it, where to go for the fastest spots? Well before you find all that out there are a few more things you should know.

It’s faster to level by questing up to level 30-35 and a whole lot more fun to do some quests and group stuff from level 60-70. Grind leveling only really works between level 35 and 60, if you know where to go and what to do. Some classes, like Frost Mages and Retribution Paladins, are easier to level by grinding but for all classes it’s still very boring doing the same actions over and over.

To avoid the boredom trying listening to music or chatting with friends on teamspeak or ventrilo, watching some TV is also possible if you’re positioned right. If your main character is already in a guild get your new one in there as well and use the guild chat for some entertainment. In short do something else to take your mind of what it is your actually doing. Things you should avoid are add-ons that monitor your leveling progression, these will only make the process seem a lot slower and more boring.

OK so enough of the talk, were’s the free warcraft power leveling guide your asking? Well to get to level 35 you can either use Thotbott quest finder to help you get there or have a look at some other guides like iDemise or Ultimate World of Warcraft Guide. Both these have Horde and Alliance WoW leveling guides.

Once you get past level 35 you should know how to play your character and have the highest DPS output you can. What I mean is, there will be no way you’ll power level as a holy priest or resto shaman. You need to work out what is the best DPS build for your class. When you’re happy with that, you are ready to start the grind!

Stock up on the highest food and mana drinks for your level before heading over to the appropriate zone, get comfortable and start the grind. Do this right and you could have a level 60 character in around 7days. As a rough guide you should aim for around 18k exp/hour at lvel35-40; 23kexp/hour at /level40-50 and 55kexp/hour at level 51-60.

Good Grinding Spots

Eastern Kingdom

34-37 Venture Co. Gnomes around Lake Nazferiti (43.20) in Stranglethorn Vale
37-39 Murlocs near Grom’Gol (28.46) in Stranglethorn Vale
36-46 Rock Elementals in Badlands (13.35) (42.84)
40-43 Scalding Whelps in Badlands (71.58 heading into the Ravine)
42-45 Naga in Stranglethorn Vale (25.65)
47-49 Elementals in Searing Gorge Cauldron (52.47)
52-54 Ogres in Burning Steps (80.45)
50-54 Western Plaguelands – Felstone Field, all monsters.
54-60 Western Plaguelands – Scarlet Lumberjack (50-56)

Kalimdor

30-38 Shimmering Flats – All monsters.
36-38 The Naga on the north west islands in Desolace
38-40 Mirefin Oracle’s and Warrior’s in Dustswallow Swamp (37-38)
40-46 Waste wanderers east of Gadgetzan in Tanaris
40-46 Woodpaws in Feralas (38-44)
46-48 Frayfeather Skystormer Feralas (40-46)
49-52 Timbermaw in Deadwood village Felwood
48-50 Northspring Harpy Feralas – (47-49)
48-51 Thistleshrub Rootshaper Tanaris – (45-50)
53-58 Ghost on frozen lake in Winterspring

This is the list of grinding spots that I’ve used with either a shadow priest or feral druid. Obviously some are better suited to one class than an other, for example any grind spots that have casters are not any good for AoE grinding. WoW power leveling isn’t an exact science and most people find the process too boring. If that’s you then just mix normal quest leveling with your power grind leveling sessions, that way you should still level fast.
