Free Warcraft Leveling Guide – Shaman Lvl0-5

This free WoW Shaman guide is part of a long series of posts that will follow me, Jórjä, as I wonder through the world of Azeroth. There is no time plan for this wow leveling guide and it will be at a slow pace with some hiccups and bumps along the way. I will be discussing quests as I go and helping you get to level 70 using the World of Warcraft original method of discovering places by doing quests. If you were looking for a WoW power leveling guide then either go here for your HORDE leveing guide! Or here for your ALLIANCE leveling guide!

I have used both Joana’s Horde guide and Brain Kopps Alliance guide amongst some others on the market, but for me these are the best wow leveling guides out there. I’m not saying the others are bad, in fact each guide will have its own hints and tips and for these alone they can be worth buying, but I just preferred the way these guides are written.

I could list the hints and tips I’ve learnt as I’ve levelled various characters but I think it would be best to point them out as we go in this shaman leveling guide. This way they can be of more relevance to the situation were you will find them useful. Hmmmm, that doesn’t really make all that much sense but I’ll try and explain it as we go.

Ok enough waffle lets get this girl out there and on the open road, sit back and grab a drink and have some fun, oh and btw if you have any questions then feel free to ask them below in the comments or email me.

Lets Get Started

When your arrival in Ammen Vale you should take look at your minimap, in fact you should get into the habit of using your minimap while you level as all quest givers are marked there with a yellow ! and all quest items or hand ins are marked with a yellow ? .

The first quest You Survived, is easy enough and killing some lvl 1 mobs on the way down the hill will put me well on my way to level 2. Look at the minimap it is easy to see the hand in point, although its only at the bottom of the hill. Handing this quest in you get the follow on quest Replenishing The Healing Crystals, remember to check your minimap for any ! go there and pickup Volatile Mutations. We are well on our way to lvl70 now in this shaman leveling guide :-)

Time to get to killing, ‘Vale moths’ and the sprawling things on the floor ‘Volatile Mutations’ are our first targets. These are both non-aggressive so you will have to hit them before they attack you. I killed this lot till I was level 3 then went and handed them in. Accept the follow-on’s and go complete Urgent Delivery inside the crash site. Now have a look at your minimap and run about picking up every available quest until your quest log, found by pressing ‘L’ on your keyboard, looks like this:

Rescue the survivors

What must be done

Botanical legwork

Inoculation

Spare Parts

Before setting of on her quest trails Jórjä made a quick visit to the Shaman class trainer to pick up any new skills on offer. Although you may not have enough coppers to buy your training at this point don’t forget to sell everything in your bags after you equip pieces that upgrade your starting zone gear. This will usually give you enough cash to buy the skills/spells on offer. She then re-stocked with some mana drinks, then it’s off we go for some more killing….. and healing.

I went out the front door of the crash site and started to look for the dying Draeni on the floor. They are real easy to spot and unless a lot of people are starting new characters there are a lot about. Use your racial ability ‘Gift of Naru‘ to heal them and move onto the next. It won’t hurt to kill a few moths and mutations as you go.

Ammen Vale

I headed west until I was in the Ammen Fields (1) and killed the root lashers there and picked up 3 corrupted flowers. Again I killed everything in sight to help with my levelling so by the time I had these three quests completed I was lvl 4, so headed back to the crash site to hand these in and collect some new one Healing the lake.

I also took the chance to grab some new shaman spells and the Call of Earth quest. This is a shaman only quest but I’m sure there will be a quest for each class at this level. I also got me a 4 slot bag on offer from a simple turn in quest that you should not forget to do. If you are lucky you may get some 6 slot bags drop but I never am :-( .

This part was purely on the Shaman quest. I went over to the Sacred Grove (S) and completed the short quest chain. It is a really easy quest and shouldn’t take you long at all. The second part is done just behind the big dude. You have to kill some elementals that spawn but they are easy kills and the other friendly elementals help as well. The final part is to hand in back at the crash site. Easy!

Heading south this time to the lake on the map (2) I found the large crystal there, it wasn’t hard to spot really but like all other quests if you are having difficulty spotting the item look for something sparkely and mouse over it, if the hand icon becomes a wheel thats what you need to click. I then went over to the east into Nestlewood Hills (3) and started killing the moonkin there. I should have read the quest properly first because I was supposed to use the inoculators on the yellow named ones, but no biggy just more XP. There is also another quest in this are to find rocket looking things again this was easy to do as no one else was in the area. If it’s busy then you will have to go deeper into the Hills to find them. Run or hearth back to the crash site and hand the quests in and collect Missing Scout.

I was lvl5 by now if not head out and grind till you are :-.

Hints Learned
Always look at your minimap ! or ?
Sell your greys if you cant equip them
Get bigger bags as soon as you can
Look for sparkels for quest items or hand icon changing to wheel.

Time Played
52 minutes

Thats enough reading (and writing) for one session in this free WoW leveling guide. I hope it helped a little on the path to leveling your allainace shaman and I look forward to bringing you the next chapter in Jórjä’s travelog of Azeroth.
