The best guilds on each server are working hard right now to complete Sunwell Plateau and have Kil’jaede at their feet before Wrath of the Lich King is released. How did these guilds get there? By hard work, long hours of raiding and lots and lots of potions! Unfortunately for them, but fortunately for the WoW gold farmer, these potions are usually bought from the auction house and it is there that we can make lots of WoW gold.

To create these potions you would need alchemy and some very rare potion recipes but the herbs required are all around you just waiting to be picked. It’s so easy to make gold with herbalism I sometimes don’t understand why more people don’t take this profession from the start. Recently I leveled a Tauren Druid and started leveling herbalism as I went. I sold most of the low level plants for a little profit but some of the pre-Burning Crusade stuff still sells well. For example Dreamfoil, available throughout Azeroth, sells for almost 40 gold per 20 stack on a good day or about 30 gold on a slow day. So think about how much you would get for Fellweed or Netherbloom.

One plant that is always popular and sells well is Fel Lotus. This can go for upto 50 gold per plant but finding more than 2-3 in a day is rare. The best way is to find out popular plants would be to ask end game raider what their favorite flask, elixir and potions are and then farm the herbs need for them. Let someone else make and sell the potions, but to be honest in a high end raiding guild they will most probably have a high level alchemist who will make the items if they are supplied the mats. Bingo - another sale!

These plants are all used for flask or potions that are used by end game raiders and always in very high demand. Don’t try and think too much about the best or fastest way to make gold in WoW, think of a more clever way, it’s always the fastest as well if you just take time and see what people really need.
