I could go on about the best mage AoE WoW leveling guide or build out there and how you should be putting your talent points in the frost tree. I could go on about the best technique of rounding up groups and what spells to use or what WoW leveling guide works best if you want to AoE level your mage. I could even go on about where the best spots are to grind and what to look out for at each spot, but the truth is none of what I said or you read in your WoW leveling guide would come close to the fun or the amount of information in the following video.

If I do have one criticism about the video is that its all a bit fast. It has also been outdated with recent patches and class changes so not all the talent point placement can be done. So to help you out I’ve taken notes from it and amended them to what I leveled my frost mage with and put them below the video. I’ve not copied the notes scene by scene only the important areas about frost talent points and techniques, there is so much more in the video.

I must say that that is probably the best produced world of warcraft ‘infovids’ I have ever seen. Wish there was more like this to help with warcraft leveling. Would you prefer to pay for an E-Book or a video like this as a warcraft leveling guide?

Anyway here is a view notes from the movie with some changes that I made to update the patch differences.

AoE Frost Mage Talents

lvl10-11 Improved Fostbolt (2/5)

Lvl12-14 Elemental Precision (3/3)

Lvl15-17 Permafrost (3/3)

Lvl18-19 Improved Frost Nova (2/2)

Lvl20 Icy Veins (1/1) (Replace for Cold Snap - This talent is not available until you have 20 points spent in Frost now)

Lvl21-23 Implorved Blizzard (3/3)

Lvl24 Piercing Ice (1/3)

Lvl25-26 Arctic Reach (2/2)

Lvl27-29 Frost Channelling (3/3)

Lvl30-31 Piercing Ice (3/3)

Lvl32 Cold Snap (1/1) (This can be taken at lvl30 but i very seldom use it so waited until I maxed Piercing Ice, more dmg is better and if the pull goes wrong blink away and return to try again!)

Lvl33-35 Imp Cone Of Cold (3/3)

Lvl36-40 Winters Chill (5/5)

Lvl41 Ice Barrier (1/1)

Lvl42-43 Ice Floes (2/2)

Lvl44-48 Arctic Winds (5/5)

That’s all the talents you will need when AoE grinding as your frost mage or trying to AoE level a frost mage. Were you put the rest are up to you but remember if you want to continue AoE grinding then you should never have Frostbite, ice shards is no good for blizzard as it can’t crit and a water elemental does not help ever in AoE grinding.

AoE Mage Leveling/Grinding Spots

Most WoW leveling guide will tell you that its impossable to level with AoE until you are level 40. Not true and the video proves it. It’s not easy before level 40 but it can be done if you find the right spots with NO casters. Even one caster in a group will make it impossable to AoE the group down so dont even bother. WoWWiki has a list put together for the best spots but i’ve done a small list here to get you started.

Lvl20-25 Wetlands (South-West) - Good spot for no other people in the area

Lvl26-28 Duskwood Raven Hill Cemetery - Poor for the number of people in the are, venture inside the tombs there as soon as you can, less people good groups of mob

28-33 Duskwood Cave East of Rotting Orchard - If you took skinning as your Proffesion grinding here will make you some gold as well.

Lvl34-38 Arathai Highlands, Go’shek Farm - Fast wow leveling spot here. You could saty here to level 40 but it gets a bit easy and boring.

Lvl39-44 Dustwallow marsh, Dreadmurk Shore - These levels were a bit hard due to the terrain most AoE grind spots were in. The murlocs here respawn fast and come in big groups, not easy and you will die trying!

Lvl 45-50 Tanaris, Lost Rigger Cove

Lvl50-55 Western Plauge Lands, Sorrow Hill

Lvl 56- 60 Western Plague Lands, Dalson’s Tear

This is as far as I have got with AoE leveling my mage but I done it without a wow leveling guide. What this shows me is that with the right class you can level to 60, if not 70, without any wow leveling guides but for other classes who level by questing these guides are a great resource to making wow leveling just as fast.
